Silent Reflux. Elimination diet.Trigger Foods. Food sensitivity: wheat, eggs, nuts. Treatment plan.
Some people with salient reflux may have food sensitivity / food intolerance. Food sensitivity could be expressed as digestive complains: Diarrhea, Bloating, Nausea, Abdominal
pain, acid Reflux /GERD/ laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR)/ Silent reflux /Gastroesophageal reflux disease/heartburn. Some people may have autoimmune conditions due to food sensitivity: eczema, psoriasis, RA, hypo or hyper-thyroidism.
The most common offenders are dairy, wheat, eggs, almonds.
Food sensitivity is not the same as food allergy. food sensitivity seen on blood laboratory work as increased IgGs for the food. In case of food allergy IgE for the food will be elevated.
Elimination Diet is the gold standard for identifying food intolerances, sensitivities.
Remove suspected food known to cause uncomfortable symptoms from your diet for 3-4 weeks and document the symptoms: are you getting better? The same or worse? After 4 weeks reintroduce the food back and see the symptoms again and you may see your symptoms return. Once you have successfully identified a food your body can’t tolerate well, you can remove it from your diet to prevent any uncomfortable symptoms in the future.
